Key senators from both parties are calling for an independent investigation of Russia’s involvement in the U.S. election. President-elect Donald Trump says he does not believe the latest CIA assessment that Russia intentionally worked to undermine our election and ensure his victory. A small group of Electoral college members has asked for an intelligence briefing before their vote on Monday to officially certify the winner of the election. John Hudak of Brookings Institution is an expert on campaigns and presidential power. He sits down with Soledad O’Brien to discuss Russian president Vladimir Putin’ s intentions, the consequences of Trump’s public statements and the future of U.S.-Russian relations.
Soledad also sat down with former CIA operative and Independent presidential candidate Evan McMullin. He gives his in-depth perspective on Russia’s long term effort to undermine the faith in democratic elections and the implications for our national security. See his interview here.
