Schools are refocusing efforts to keep potential mass shooters in mind as they design the buildings and campuses, following the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglass High in Parkland, FL. A state commission recently reported that the high school’s design may have impacted the number of people killed. At Marjory Stoneman Douglass, teachers were unable to lock their doors from the inside and small door windows allowed the shooter to shoot inside locked classrooms.
