How undocumented immigrants in America are treated often depends on the color of their skin. Maeve Higgins, an Irish immigrant who overstayed her tourist visa to work as a nanny in New York, says she never faced the immigration backlash or fear of deportation many undocumented immigrants experience. Now a comedian working legally in the U.S., Higgins writes about her experiences in a new book called “The Good Immigrant.”
