It’s open enrollment season for the Affordable Care Act, but some signing up for the individual market exchanges are facing limited options with higher prices. Iowans on the exchanges have just one insurance option this year and the premium has increased a dizzying 56%. Earlier this year, the state tried to pull back from Obamacare, but their proposal for a statewide plan couldn’t meet the requirements. Doug Ommen, Iowa’s Insurance Commissioner, joins Soledad O’Brien from Des Moines, IA to discuss why his state wants more flexibility and what Congress needs to do to bring costs down.
